2013

The 2012-2013 High School demonstrated the unparalleled strength of the Minutemen.  Our players achieved great success in the CHSAA and the Westchester Public Schools and the PSAL.

Max Twyman , Rye High School.  Leading scorer.  1,000 point player.  Looking forward to a great college career.  Led the Minutemen to consecutive Sweet Sixteen National Championship finishes.  Lo Hud Player of the week. All county recognition.

Tyler Nathan, Scarsdale H.S., Profiled in the Journal News. Led Scarsdale to one of its best records in years as a prolific shooter.  Starter on the Minutemen 15U, 16U and 17U teams, which achieved national prominence.

John Crowe, Fordham Prep.  Starter at point guard for the Rams who play in in the tough CHSAA "AA" division.  Highlighted at CHSAA player evaluation games. Recognized by "Ballers All Stars" as a guard to be watched in college.

John Gause, Sacred Heart H.S.  A four year starter and captain at Sacred Heart.  PG for the Minutemen's National Championship Sweet Sixteen team.  All CHSAA player. Recruited by 5 colleges.

Matt Franks, Rye Neck.  Matt as a junior was his team's leading scorer.  Played so well in the ultra-competitive IS8 tournament that he has been named as one of the players to watch in the NY metro area.

Seamus Grogan, Iona Prep.  Junior forward.  Seamus is a rebounding force for the Iona Prep Gaels leading them to the CHSAA Division "AA" finals at Fordham University.  He will be a force to be reckoned with on this year's 17U Minutemen National team.

Devin Burrowes, Iona Prep.  Junior guard.  Had a good season at the Prep and looking to explode on the AAU circuit after a nice sophmore season for the 16U Minutemen.

Jack Hewitt, Scarsdale.  Senior center.  Emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the post battling some of the areas best big men.  Will be playing he college ball at Bowdoin.

Zack Rollins, Pelham.  Zach was the leading rebounder and one of the best players on the 2013 Pelham team, which went deep in the Section 1 playoffs.

Terrence Tribble, Valhalla.  Senior forward.  Terrence led his team scoring and is also recognized as one of the highly regarded players in Westchester.  He was a major defensive presence in the Minutemen 2012, highly successful season.

Dane Williamson, Gorton High School, Yonkers.  Senior guard and Lo Hud player of the week.  Led Gorton to its best record in recent memory, including the Yonkers City Championship!

Chris Pennell. Rye Neck.  Junior starting point guard.  Adept at feeding the post and running Coach Lincoln's excellent team.

Jeff Lynch, Byram Hills.  Senior guard.  In a word outstanding!  1,000 point scorer on one of the best teams in NY.  He will have a wonderful college career, he led his team and scoring and brought them to the finals in the County Center against Poughkeepsie.

Matt Bernstein, John Jay.  Senior point guard.  Matt had a super senior season for his high school.  A valuable member of the 17U team and was key force in the AAU regional Championships won by the Minutemen.

Brad Fiedler, Scarsdale.  Senior guard.  A four year veteran of the Minutemen and a significant contributor to Scarsdale's success.

Congratulations to Arjon Bequiri and John Gause for being named to the CHSAA all league team.

Minutemen Basketball H.S. Division

A great run in the 2013 National Championships........The only program in the NY Metro region to have 3 H.S. teams play in the National AAU Championships in Orlando Florida!!

Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen
Grammar School Division
Multiple qualifiers for both AAU and the YBOA National Championships, 1st or 2nd in over 25 regional tournaments.   

4/26 - 4/27 - Minutemen (17U) Kareem - In front of over 40 division 1, 2 and 3 college coaches at the House of Sports, our 17U team opened a few eyes.  They went 4-0 and won the grey bracket against some of the top competition in the region at the Northeast Live Invitational.  Coaches and writers were all impressed with our team.  The team looks to prepare for a return to the Nationals in Orlando and surpass their Sweet 16 finish a year ago!

4/20 - 4/21 - Minutemen Red (17U) and White (17U) reached the finals of the Jammers Slam Dunk Tournament, held at Queens College. Minutemen Red defeated Valley Stream in the quarterfinals and defeated Edge Athletics from Poughkepsie in the semi-finals in a hotly contested game to reach the finals.  In the finals, Minutemen White defeated Minutemen Red to win it all. Enroute to the Championship, Minutemen white defeated the always tough Riverside Hawks to set up the days championship run.

4/20 - 4/21 - Minutemen Kareem (17U) traveled to Delaware to play in the Mid Atlantic Super Regionals.  The team qualified for the Boston Nationals in June, by going 3-0, therefore winning their pool.  Advancing to the championship game, they lost a tough game by 3 points to the Benfield Tigers.

4/13 - 4/15 - Minutemen Red (17U) sweep 4 straight to win Hooperstown Challenge Championship

                  Minutemen White (17U)  sweep 4 straight and take the Cardinal Tip Off Classic Championship!

4/13 - 4/15 - Lady Minutemen (9th grade) went 2-2 in their first tournament Long Island Lightening Spring Challenge. All four games were competitive as they won twice by 12 points and lost twice by 4 points.  All the girls played with passion all four games.

4/13 - 4/15 - Minutemen Mc Donnel (16U) - Won their division at Hooperstown, after losing in the finals at Brewster the week before.  They currently stand at 7 wins and 1 loss.

4/20 - 4/21 -  Minutemen Hommel (11U) Played strong competition and advanced to the Championship game in the       Jammers Slam Dunk championship.  

4/20 - 4/21 - Minutemen Barefoot (16U) Won the Brewster Showdown.  Their first game went into overtime with a win against Nor' East Lightening.  They ended up champs with players receiving medals and getting their team picture displayed!

4/20 - 4/21 - Minutemen Fiedler (14U) - Went undefeated (4-0) in the Under Armor Tournament at the House of Sports

4/27 - 4/28 - Minutemen Dell (17U) - Went undefeated (4-0) in the Chase the Game Tournament City Division.  This is after coming back in two of their games after being down by 15. This is the first time that both 17U divisions won the Chase the Game Tournament.

4/27 - 4/28 - Minutemen Gunther (14U) Went 3-1 in the Chase the Game Tournament

4/27 - 4/28 - Minutemen Hommel (17U) Went 4-0 in the Chase the Game Tournament Empire Division

4/27 - 4/28 - Minutemen Molloy/Marcellino (14U) - Finished tied for the championship in the Chase the Game Tournament going 3 - 1.

6/29 - 6/30 - Minutemen Monroe Anderson (15U) - Gosh Warriors GOT GAME II Tournament Champions
